Everyone deals with stress, but it turns out residents in certain states are more stressed-out than others. A recent study by WalletHub revealed the most stressed and least stressed states in the U.S. To determine which state residents are the most stressed, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 41 key indicators of stress.
"Our data set ranges from average hours worked per week to the personal bankruptcy rate to the share of adults getting adequate sleep," explained the financial website.
According to their findings, California is the 14th most stressed state in the U.S. Here are the states that made it within the top 15 most stressed:
- Lousiana
- Nevada
- New Mexico
- West Virginia
- Mississippi
- Arkansas
- Oklahoma
- Alabama
- Texas
- Tennessee
- Kentucky
- North Carolina
- Florida
- California
- Arizona
These were the least stressed states, according to the study:
- Utah
- Minnesota
- South Dakota
- Wisconsin
- New Hampshire
- Hawaii
- North Dakota
- Massachusetts
- Nebraska
- New Jersey
- Iowa
- Montana
- Maryland
- Illinois
- Delaware
