E-40 is celebrating after he accepted the most prestigious honor in his hometown.

On Saturday, October 21, the seasoned rapper went back to his old neighborhood in Vallejo, Calif. to receive the key to the city from Mayor Robert McConnell. In addition to the honorable award, the mayor issued a proclamation that declared October 21 as "E-40 Day" and the street where his childhood home is located was renamed to "E-40 Way." The Mount Westmore rapper was surrounded by Mistah F.A.B., his longtime producers The Click plus his family and friends as he accepted the honor.

"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to have my childhood street in Vallejo named after me!" E-40 wrote in an Instagram post. "Don’t ever give up on your dreams! Thank you to the @CityofVallejo."

E-40 made history as the second person ever to receive the key to the city of Vallejo. During the ceremony, Mayor McConnell also highlighted the 30th anniversary of the Bay Area rapper's debut album Federal. The album features one of his most notable tracks "Magazine Street," which was the former name of the street where he grew up.

The incredible honor comes a few months after he delivered his single "Front Row 40." The song was inspired by the misunderstanding he experienced earlier this year at the Golden 1 Arena during a Sacramento Kings game. He was kicked out from his front row seat after he got into a dispute with a woman who allegedly heckled the rapper throughout the entire Golden State Warriors vs. Kings game. E-40 claimed "racial bias" played a role in his ejection because the woman who reportedly started their dispute wasn't punished.
