Young Thug has never been a fan of rappers who work with law enforcement, but his latest comments about "rats" has fans wondering who he could be talking about.
On Monday, July 7, the Atlanta native hopped on X and shared his thoughts about rap artists who have snitched in the past. In his post, he wrote, "If u a rapper and u a rat, u gotta just go gospel twin." Fans instantly jumped in the comments and mentioned his former collaborator Gunna, who was arrested alongside Thugger and other alleged YSL members in 2022 as part of the YSL RICO case.
Gunna was accused of snitching by Thug's supporters after he was released from jail in December 2022. While some believe he ratted out Thug and their associates, the One of Wun artist was released after he took an Alford plea in the YSL RICO case. When using an Alford plea, a defendant doesn't admit to the crime but accepts the consequences of a guilty verdict. Despite submitting a plea and being released from jail, Gunna and his legal team maintain that the "Won't Stop" rapper did not cooperate or participate in any aspect of the YSL case.
Young Thug's relationship with Gunna didn't improve after he was released from jail after accepting a plea deal. A few days after he came home, the "Money On Money" artist posted (and later deleted) a message aimed at Wunna. “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know you my guy,” he wrote. Several months later, Thug was asked about his friendship with Gunna, yet he only replied, "I don't know."
It's also possible that Young Thug could've been referring to Kid Cudi. The Cleveland rapper recently took the witness stand during Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial and told the jury how the troubled mogul allegedly broke into his home, harmed his dog and attempted to blow up his Porsche. At the time, Thug took to X and wrote “Dam cudi a rat lol" before he ultimately deleted it.
Young Thug's stance on rats has sparked plenty of discussion on X. Check out some of the reactions to his post below.
