Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have been best friends since 2009, but what (or in this case, who) caused them to become so close in the first place?
Gomez threw it back to her Disney Channel days during the August 7 episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane and zoomed in on the early years of her iconic friendship with the "Karma" songstress.
"Taylor and I dated the Jonas Brothers. I dated Nick, and she dated Joe. And everything was... It was cute. We were young. We all know and love each other now, and it’s so cute. We didn't know what we were doing. She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet."
The Only Murders in the Building actress was 15, and Swift, 18, when their relationships with Nick and Joe ended and they "bonded over the breakup, as girls do." They might have called it quits with the Jonas Brothers, but their friendship was only just beginning. At 33 and 35, Gomez and Swift are still inseparable and frequently show public support for one another.
"And then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after, and here we are now 16 years later," Gomez explained.
