Florence + The Machine Demands 'Everybody Scream' In Mystical New Single

Florence + the Machine is back with a new track that will have you screaming for joy.

The band dropped their new song "Everybody Scream" on Wednesday (August 20), the lead single and title track of the band's upcoming album of the same name, which is set to come out on October 31. The record is the group's sixth studio album and a follow-up to 2022's Dance Fever.

In addition to the song, the band released a music video directed by Autumn de Wilde featuring singer Florence Welch in a striking red dress roaming around the countryside, accompanied by a group of screaming women dressed black and dancing for a group of people that are left convulsing from their moves.

"Here I can take up the whole of the sky/ Unfurling, becoming my full size/ Look at me burst through the ceiling/ Aren't you so glad you came/ Breathless and begging and screaming my name," she sings in the chorus.

Florence + the Machine first announced Everybody Scream on social media on Tuesday (August 19), giving fans a look at that album art featuring Welch, seen through a fisheye lens, lounging back in a chair in a black and white outfit.

"Florence and the Machine, Everybody Scream, The new album, This Halloween," the caption read.

According to NME, the album is reportedly inspired by witchcraft and mysticism. It will originally feature 12 songs — written by Welch with contributions from IDLES' Mark Bowen, The National's Aaron Dessner, and Mitski — but will contain bonus tracks on a "Chamber Versions" edition on CD and vinyl as well as an alternate cover. The record is available for pre-order in various formats on the band's website.
