Allison Williams put her body on the line while filming her new movie.

The Girls actress was a guest on the Tuesday (October 21) episode of the Bookmarked by Reese's Book Club podcast where she spoke with host Danielle Robay about everything that went into bringing to life the film adaption of Colleen Hoover's novel Regretting You. Williams not only stars in the film, which hits theaters October 24, but serves as an executive producer.

Williams also explained why it was "freeing" to delve into the anger and resentment her character Morgan holds throughout the film. The Get Out actress admitted she gets "biting and mean" when she's angry rather than aggressive so physically taking out the anger and frustration her character feels by hitting a car is new for her.

"Beating up a car is something that I've never even thought to do in my normal life. So accessing and then exercising rage in that way feels good. Like there's a reason that rage rooms exist," she said. "It's all in there. It's just sitting there waiting to be unleashed."

The scene was so intense that she "hurt myself beating up the car" and "partially dislocated a rib." Despite the injury, however, she called the moment "cathartic" to film.

"I also have played a lot of characters who are kind of keeping everyone, including themselves, at arms distance, so it was really nice to just be able to, like, feel things and be vulnerable," she said.
