The New York Jets have reportedly traded Pro Bowl defensive lineman Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday (November 4) prior to the NFL's trade deadline.
The reported trade involving Williams took place shortly after the Jets shipped former Pro Bowl cornerback Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for two first-round picks.
"Jets Blockbuster II: New York is trading three-time Pro-Bowl DT Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys, sources tell ESPN. First CB Sauce Gardner and now, on the same day, Williams."
The Jets now have two first-round picks and two second-round picks in 2026, as well as three first-round picks in 2027 after the reported trades involving Gardner and Williams.
Williams was selected by the Jets at No. 3 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft after a decorate collegiate career at Alabama, which included winning the 2017 College Football Playoff national championship, as well as the Outland and Bill Willis trophies and being selected as a unanimous All-American and First-Team All-SEC defensive lineman in 2018. The Birmingham native was selected as a First-team All-Pro in 2022 and a Pro Bowler during each of the last three seasons.
Williams agreed to a four-year, $96 million extension with the Jets in 2023 and is signed through the 2027 season.
