Cardi B and Offset's secret marriage is now out in the open, courtesy of TMZ, but the minister who officiated the rappers could have spoiled the surprise if she wanted to because the pair never made her sign a non-disclosure agreement.

On Tuesday (June 26), minister Melinda Guess told TMZ that she had never met the rappers prior to their September affair and was caught off guard when their team called her to do the big honors. Guess, who owns Officiant ATL, went on to admit that the pair simply wished for privacy for their nuptials. Her standard rate for home ceremonies runs between $500 and $1,000.

Chaos ensued when TMZ discovered that the hip-hop pair received a marriage certificate in Fulton County, Georgia on September 20, 2017. In case you didn't know, that document is filed with the court after a couple makes it official as proof a marriage really happened. According to the outlet, Offset woke up one morning, looked Cardi in the eye and said, "Marry me." At that point in time, the rapper wasn't even pregnant, but the pair hired Guess to come to the house and marry them in their bedroom. The only person who was witness to the affair was Cardi's cousin.

It explains why Offset has already been referring to Bardi as his wife. During the 2018 BET Awards on Sunday, he offered the rapper a shout-out during Migos' acceptance speech for Best Group. "I thank my wife. You should thank yours," he said at the podium.

After TMZ's story went viral, Cardi B took to Twitter to confirm the news, admitting that she wanted to keep the moment private. "There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other, was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married," she wrote.
