Foo Fighters are great at entertaining themselves while on the road. Whether its starting pick up soccer games with college athletes or playing pop up concerts in parking lots, there's never a dull moment when the alt-rockers are in town.
On Saturday (September 8), the band played at Rogers Arena in Vancouver after a brief postponement when Dave Grohl lost his voice. They've been covering Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure" during the tour, each night choosing a different audience member to sing with drummer Taylor Hawkins. On this particular night, they picked a 16-year-old girl named Madi Duncan and FF superfan Roxanne Engli to come hangout onstage. Little did they know how special the experience would be fore their teenage fan.
After the show was over, Duncan posted about her rockstar moment on Instagram. "OH. MY. GOD.I just got to sing with my absolute favourite band in the world. I'm only sixteen and I got to meet my heroes," she began a lengthy caption alongside a gallery of photos and video before explaining why exactly this was a huge accomplishment for her.
"A lot of people are aware (or maybe not) of my struggles with mental illness and have been very supportive of me throughout it all, but something that you may not know is how much Foo Fighters helped my younger self during the worst time of my life," she explained. "Essentially, I can sincerely say that without them I wouldn't be who I am today, in fact I wouldn't be here today."
Check out her emotional post and footage of the duet below.
