Hov is not onboard with bringing Astrowold to Super Bowl LIII.

According to Variety, "Jay-Z — who has been highly critical of the NFL over its treatment of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick — is attempting to talk [Travis] Scott out of performing" during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Jay's alleged disapproval of the "SICKO MODE" rapper's decision came just after TMZ reported that Trav recently signed on to perform with Maroon 5, who is headlining the show, for SB LIII in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3.

Before signing on the "STARGAZING" rapper, the band had reportedly been struggling to find another artist to perform with due to the on-going NFL boycott sparked by Kaepernick's kneeling protests. Not to mention, there's also been a ton backlash about the NFL's decision to choose a non-Atlanta based artist for the performance given that the city has produced some of the biggest names in music.

Jay isn't the only critic of Travis' decision to perform at Super Bow LIII. Following news of the "WAKE UP" rapper's new gig, Meek Mill expressed his disappointment in Travis' decision, tweeting "For what???? ... He don’t need that he on fire already!   Stay strong in this sh*t!" One person who is in Travis' corner though is Young Joc, who told TMZ that the opportunity to have Travis perform at SB LIII is one that is too big for him to pass up.

As previously reported, multiple artists turned down the Super Bowl LIII headlining gig before it was awarded to Maroon 5. One of the biggest names was Rihanna, who reportedly declined the offer to headline the Super Bowl LIII halftime show because she also supports Kaepernick. "The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta," an insider told Us Weekly in October. "They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance."

Maroon 5 is reportedly "in talks with several other artists about possibly joining the show, including Cardi B and OutKast's Big Boi," TMZ reported earlier this week.
