Demi Lovato Vows To ‘Never Take Another’ Day For Granted After Tough Year

Demi Lovato is turning the page on an old chapter of her life. Last night (December 31), the "Tell Me You Love Me" star celebrated her New Year on social media with a positive message of thankfulness, faith, and gratitude.

"So grateful for the lessons I’ve learned this year. I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones," the singer wrote via her Instagram Stories, adding, "Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me throughout this year. God bless."

As you know, 2018 proved to be a year of trials and tribulations for the "Sorry Not Sorry" musician, who relapsed last summer after honoring her sixth year of sobriety just months before. Sadly, things worsened for Lovato when it was learned that the superstar had suffered a near-fatal drug overdose on fentanyl-laced Oxycodone at her Hollywood Hills home on July 24.

Thankfully, the 26-year-old survived the traumatic episode and, with the support and care of those who love her most, reset her road to sobriety and went on to complete rehab treatment toward the latter end of the year. The "Games" vocalist even makes a toast to her clean lifestyle in another Instagram Story with a glass of sparkling cider, captioning the moment with the hashtag "#Sobriety."

(FYI: Lovato has remained drug-free since October 2018.)

Since then, she's made an immense improvement on her health and wellbeing — cutting all the negative influences out of her life for good, appearing in happier, better spirits in the public eye as well as social media, and most recently, finding love again with her new boyfriend and sober companion Henry Levy.

We couldn't be more thrilled for Demi, and we're wishing her the best in the New Year.
