Louis Tomlinson Opens Up About His Fallout With ZAYN

It appears Louis Tomlinson is no longer on friendly terms with ZAYN after the latter failed to support him when his mother, Johannah Deakin, died.

"Truthfully, [our relationship] never really got better," the 27-year-old star confessed during "The Dan Wootton Interview" podcast on Friday (March 8) in promotion for his new song, "Two of Us." "I had a couple of calls with him after I lost my mum and all the boys had agreed to come to that performance I did with Steve Aiko at The X Factor and he didn’t show, so that really bugged me." Tomlinson's 2016 X Factor UK performance of "Just Hold On," a track dedicated to Deakin, occurred just days after his loss. Still, the pop star was happy to receive support from his other One Direction bandmates. "“It was just seeing everyone there—Harry, Niall, and Liam—that was what I needed that night, that support," he explained, adding that he hopes ZAYN is doing "alright."

Before she passed away, Deakin asked Tomlinson to make up with ZAYN as her dying wish. "My mum said, 'You've got to get back in contact with ZAYN. Life's too f**king short,'" he said in 2017. "A mother's intuition is just fu**ing crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted."

As for whether the pop collective will ever reunite, Tomlinson told Wooton that he's on board with the idea of a reunion. "Honestly I'll be the first name on the team sheet, I'll be signing it straight away I tell you. You feel like we’ve got a responsibility actually to come back to these people," he said.
