Cardi B is a woman of her word.

After asking her fans to submit questions to be answered by a Democratic presidential candidate earlier this month, the 26-year-old rapper came through with her promise and had a sit-down conversation with 2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

On Monday (July 29), the 26-year-old rapper had a one-on-one conversation with Senator Sanders about his plans for this country as the two discussed a number of hot-button issues for a campaign video. "We [are] working on a way to involve more young people in the political process," Sanders told CNN when he arrived for the meeting. "The future of America depends on young people. They are voting in large numbers, but not large enough numbers."

He later opened up about his conversation with Cardi, telling the news site they spoke about a range of issues, including canceling student debt, climate change and raising the minimum wage.

Following the interview, Cardi thanked Senator Sanders for meeting with her to answer her questions and those of her fans in a sit-down interview, which was filmed in Detroit ahead of the Democratic Presidential Debate. "Not me, US. Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders for sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will change this country," Cardi captioned a photo taken of their meeting. "A couple of weeks ago I asked my followers if you had the opportunity to have a question answered by a democratic candidate what would it be ? I got a lot of submission and selected the most popular questions to get answered. Stay tuned to see how he will fight for economic, racial, and social justice for all. Together, let’s build a movement of young people to transform this country.LETS LEARN OUR CANDIDATES!"

Earlier this month, Cardi tweeted her support of the senator, writing, "I been reading about Bernie Sanders and I'm really sad how we let him down in 2016. This man been fighting for equal rights, HUMAN rights for such along time. Seeing this country become a better place been really his passion for a long time not a new front for a campaign."

LSanders was equally as complimentary when discussing the rapper on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week. "She is really smart and she is deeply concerned about what's happening in this country. That's the truth," he said. "She comes from a humble background and she knows what it's like to live in poverty, to struggle, and she wants to make sure that we can improve life for working people in this country. I'm delighted that she is a supporter."
