A$AP Rocky won't be joining any Swedish sight seeing excursions anytime soon, according to a recent report by TMZ. The 'Forever' rapper reportedly will never step foot into Sweden again after recently being granted a release from a Stockholm jail. Sources confirmed to the outlet that if all things go according to plan and Rocky is acquitted of assault charges, he won't return.
This past Friday (August 2), co-defendants Bladimir Emilio Corniel and David Tyrone Rispers joined A$AP (born Rakim Mayers) to stand trial for a street fight they were involved in last month. Mayers testified in an emotional plea stating that he doesn't want money, he's only seeking justice.
I have spent a month in Sweden. This is my 5th or 6th time here. I have seen the most beautiful architecture. And the not-so-nice things ... what I want is justice. I want my name to be cleared. Justice for all of us.
A$AP continued his testimony, answering to the prosecutors claims that he attacked the plaintiff with a bottle.
I walk up the block and I start to notice that [redacted] walks down the block to tell the girls 'please tell them to leave us alone.' and these guys were following again. As far as the bottles go, I held it momentarily because I realized it was stupid especially when they didn't have it in their possession, I wasn't necessary for me to have it, so I put it down…
Rocky also detailed the altercation, claiming that he and his companions tried multiple times to defuse the situation but the plaintiff persisted in escalating the fight.
I couldn't help but assume that these guys were under the influence of some type of drugs. At this point, we don't want to provoke these guys, we just want to diffuse the whole situation, and we want to get away from these guys. Me and the crew start to tell them, 'listen, go the other way, go that way. We don't want no problems. We don't want no beef.' But [redacted], he was persistent and he kept pursuing it and he was like 'come on, come on.' At that moment, [redacted] friend came from out of Max's and he asked us if all three of us had jumped [redacted]. We told him no. We said we didn't even want to fight. Nobody wants to fight. We were just like, 'please just leave us alone.’
Since his release, A$AP shared an emotional message on Instagram thanking his fans and supporters for sticking by his side during this entire ordeal.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO ALL OF MY FANS, FRIENDS AND ANYONE ACROSS THE GLOBE WHO SUPPORTED ME DURING THESE LAST FEW WEEKS I CANT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR ALL OF YOU THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DIFFICULT AND HUMBLING EXPERIENCE I WANT TO THANK THE COURT FOR ALLOWING ME BLADI AND THOTO TO RETURN TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL OF THE LOVE AND SUPPORT
It is expected that Rocky, Corniel and Rispers will all be acquitted, due to the Swedish court allowing them to leave the country. They don't have to return for the verdict, because it will only be a written ruling, per TMZ. The decision is estimated to be released on August 14th.
