Yesterday, Miranda Lambert teased fans on the midnight drop of her new song featuring Maren Morris, “Way Too Pretty For Prison.” Well, 24-hours later, the song has officially been released to the public.
"He cheated, he's a villain / And you know I'd help you kill him / But we're way too pretty for prison / Hard time ain't our kind of livin' / And I don't want to talk about / The way those jumpsuits wash us out/ We're way too pretty for prison," the duo sings.
Lambert took to Instagram to share that the new song is all thanks to a bottle of wine and fellow country singer, Karen Fairchild. In the caption she writes, "This song was inspired by a wine night I had with @karenfairchild. I always tell my friends, 'don't leave if you've been drinking, because you're way too pretty for prison,' and the Love Junkies and I turned that into a song. @marenmorris sand her ass of on it. #TexasGirls"
Fairchild responded to the Instagram post commenting, "I'll always be here for you." Morris also turned to social media sharing "When @mirandalambert told me about this song back at the ACMs, I knew it'd be full of wit and some Texan bite. Happy I could be a partner-in-avoiding crime on it with her. Way Too Pretty for Prison is out now!"
The new collaboration is the fifth song Lambert has shared off her forthcoming new album, Wildcard. Previously released songs include lead single,"It All Comes Out In The Wash,""Locomotive,""Mess With My Head," and"Bluebird."
The highly-anticipated new album, Wildcard, is set to officially drop this fall on November 1.
