A$AP Rocky Drops Dick Tracy-Inspired Music Video For 'Babushka Boi': Watch

A$AP Rocky is back with a brand new music video.
Weeks after returning to the United States after his assault trial in Sweden, the 30-year-old rapper unveiled a wacky visual accompaniment for his new single "Babushka Boi" on Wednesday (August 28) — and it pays quite the homage to the style of Dicky Tracy. The video, which guest stars A$AP Ferg, Schoolboy Q, and A$AP Nast as members of Rocky's crew of babushka-wearing bank robbers, turns creepy and cartoonish as the gang, appearing in hideous makeup and colorful costumes, tries to outwit and evade law enforcement (who are equally bizarre-looking in pig-faced masks).
The final product manifests from the creative genius of Rocky's previous collaborator, Nadia Lee Cohen, who directs the "Babushka Boi" video. Check it out below.
Rocky's project is the latest to come to fruition since the emcee was found guilty on misdemeanor assault charges in Sweden on August 14. The conviction, which found his co-defendants, Bladimir Corniel and David Rispers, also guilty of assault, did not involve prison time for the "Chewing Gum" star but instead the trio was ordered to pay damages to the victims and reimburse the state.
Hours after the verdict, Rocky took to Instagram to express his disappointment over the judge's decision.
"I AM OF COURSE DISAPPOINTED BY TODAY’S VERDICT. I WANT TO SAY THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF MY FANS, FRIENDS, AND EVERYONE WHO SHOWED ME LOVE DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. IMMA KEEP MOVING FORWARD," Rocky wrote at the time. "THANK YOU TO MY TEAM, MY MANAGEMENT, ATTORNEYS, LABEL AND EVERYONE WHO ADVOCATED FOR JUSTICE."
