The marathon continues.

The 62nd Grammys Awards featured an emotional tribute to the late rapper and activist Nipsey Hussle.

After being introduced by fellow Los Angeles native, Ava Duvernay, the Victory Lap rapper's close friends, and previous collaborators took the Staples Center stage to honor him.

The tribute opened with Meek Mill rapping "Letter to Nipsey," an open letter to the late rapper that mentions the letter former President Barack Obama wrote to Nip's family following his passing. Meek, who was dressed in a "Nipsey Blue" suit, also rapped about Nip's legacy and the weight of his loss, rapping, "When we lost you, it really put some pain on me [...] Real hitters never die."

Meek then passed the baton to Roddy Ricch, who sang a few bars before DJ Khaled and John Legend sang their grammy-nominated collaboration with Nipsey, "Higher," along with a full choir.

Halfway through the performance, YG joined the two on stage, followed by gospel singer Kirk Franklin.

The tribute concluded with the performers turning their backs to the audience to look at two large photos of Nipsey and Kobe Bryant, who passed away in a tragic helicopter crash along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna hours before Sunday's show. "Rest in peace Nipsey Hussle. Rest in peace Gianna. Long live Nip. Long live Kobe..." DJ Khaled said as all the performers looked on at the photos of the late legends.
