On Thursday (January 30), The Revivalists surprised fans by releasing a new song, “Bitter End,” as well as dropping a brand-new EP, Made In Muscle Shoals. Along with the EP, the band also recorded a 17-minute documentary about the recording process.
“We went to the legendary @fame_recording_studios in Muscle Shoals to rediscover ourselves and our music, reimagine old tunes and create new ones, documenting the whole thing along the way,” the band posted on Instagram. “Join us in the studio as we record our new track 'Bitter End' from Made In Muscle Shoals.”
In Addition to the new track, the seven-song EP features new recordings of other The Revivalists songs including “Wish I Knew You,” “Oh No,” “You And I,” “Change,” and “All My Friends.” They also cover the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody.”
“I think our sound has kind of evolved along the way with us,” lead singer David Shaw said in the documentary. “It's always from the heart. I"m just trying to make people feel something and hopefully I do something that is original.”
