Carrie Underwood Admits She's Tried A Few 'Crazy' Diets Before

It took Carrie Underwood some time to really figure out what diet was best for her body and lifestyle. The country star recently revealed that on her journey to be healthy, she experimented with some pretty crazy diets.

"I've seen crazy diet suggestions, and I've tried some that are entirely unsustainable," Underwood said in a recent interview with Parade. "No, I'm not going to puree my own peas or make my own hummus. They have it at the store. You know what I do? I eat microwave burritos multiple times a week because they’re easy. It’s about finding those solutions and doing your best."

While it took her some time to accept, Underwood realizes that perfection isn't possible and it's important to give yourself a break every now and then. "Sometimes moments do need to be wasted. You need to take a breath and stop. That is an area of self-care that I am awful at," she shares.

Underwood's personal journey to a healthy lifestyle can be read about in her new book, Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit 52 Life.

Find Your Path features stories from Underwood regarding her personal wellness, including details of her fitness routine called Fit 52. Readers won't find any quick fix diets in the book, but they will find healthy ingredient replacement ideas, meal plans and recipes. “We wanted to give readers permission to be practical and real and honest," Underwood says.

Find Your Path will also cover more personal matters such as pressures that come with Underwood's life in the public eye. She opens up about how she manages life an an entertainer, wife to former NHL star, Mike Fisher, and mother to two sons, Isaiah and Jacob.

Underwood's book, officially released on March 3, is on sale now!
