Harry Styles Performs 'Fine Line' Songs In First Tiny Desk Concert

Harry Styles’ Tiny Desk concert is here!

Stylers, rejoice! The “Lights Up” singer-songwriter made his debut in the small-room setting in D.C., where he delivered several songs from his number-one sophomore studio album, Fine Line.

Joined by his band, dressed in a baby blue sweater and with his guitar in hand, Styles charmed the crowd with an opening performance of his romantic deep cut “Cherry” before following up with his sweet jam “Watermelon Sugar,” which the crooner recalled writing while touring in 2017 during a day off in Nashville.

“It’s probably the longest it’s ever taken me to finish a song,” he told the audience of the record. “We kind of liked it when we first had it, but I really hated it for a long time and it kept coming back into the mix.”

The former One Direction member gave credit to his collaborator and guitarist, Mitchell Rowland, before launching into his next song, “To Be So Lonely,” which the artist revealed he’d recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in England. “I’ve never really done a show like this before. It just feels like I’m in the way of you working, so I apologize,” Styles told the crowd, before closing the event with the fan-favorite song “Adore You.”

Styles will be taking Fine Line on the road in North America this summer with opening act Jenny Lewis for his “Love On” world tour, launching at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on June 26, with additional dates in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and elsewhere before wrapping in LA on September 6.
