Harry Styles Announces New Album 'Fine Line' And Its Release Date

By Lindsey Smith

On Monday (November 4), Harry Styles announced the name and release date of his highly-anticipated second album. Titled Fine Line, the followup to 2017's self-titled album will drop Friday December 13 (aka Taylor Swift's birthday 👀).

Styles took to social media to post the cover art for the album; which features the 25-year-old singer in a bright pink shirt and high-waisted white pants. There is also a hand covered in a black glove reaching out in the lower left corner of the fish-eye lens photo.

The news of the album comes almost 24 hours after his already cryptic site updated to give fans the message: “[Name], you are patiently waiting for something to happen. TPWK. Love, H.”

In early October, Styles returned to the music scene with his first single off Fine Line, “Lights Up,” after dropping the track and video simultaneously. “Lights Up” was teased with dozens of mysterious posters that popped up all over the world from London, NYC, and more cities that just stated, “Do You Know Who You Are?” Luckily, once the song dropped fans were able to see it was a lyric in the song.

“For me, the song is about free some and self-reflection and self-discovery,” he said in a recent interview. “A couple things that I’d kind of thought about and wrestled with over the last couple of years and I think this song is about me accepting those things.”

On the topic of being cryptic AF, Styles sent fans into a frenzy after randomly tweeting “Watermelon Sugar” and convincing them he'd be putting out his next single. In a recent radio interview, Styles said “you'll have to wait and find out” if it ends up being on the album.

The former One Direction singer will also be pulling double duty as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live on November 16.
