The Duke & Duchess Of Sussex Pose With Their Newborn Son

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in Canada after completing their final round of royal engagements in London earlier this month. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will remain at their new Vancouver Island home observing social distancing for the foreseeable future with their 10-month-old son Archie. Though we likely won't see the Sussexes' out in public for some time due to the ongoing pandemic, royal insiders are still busy spilling tea about them to the media.

In a new report from Us Weekly, an anonymous source revealed Prince Harry's decision to step down from his position within the Royal Family and move abroad was inspired by a desire to give Archie a more private childhood than he was afforded. “He wants to shield his son from the negativity and tension he would’ve been exposed to back in England,” the source explained.

Prince Harry has never been shy about sharing the downside to growing up as a prince, as well as how his mother's tragic death continues to affect him. In a letter detailing his decision to sue a number of British tabloids, the Duke of Sussex revealed he fears "history repeating itself" while he watched his wife "falling victim to the same powerful forces" as Princess Diana. So, it comes as no surprise that a second insider informed Us Weekly that Harry “knows what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight, and he wants to give Archie the most normal upbringing possible" as a result.

Despite some drama with his family over his historic decision to leave the royal life behind, Harry and Meghan are reportedly quite happy with their decision overall. "They are enjoying living a quiet life,” another source told People. “They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs. They are really happy. Harry is the best dad — he’s so into it. And Meghan is a natural.”
