Lauren Jauregui is back with a brand new banger!

The singer returned at midnight Friday (March 20) with a Latin pop track titled “Lento,” a record all about taking things slow. Featuring ad-libs by Puerto Rican songwriter Tainy, the former Fifth Harmony songbird’s Spanish-language jam draws heavily on sexy dancehall rhythms with a tinge of urban flare.

“So I keep to myself, I don't need to be bothered/ But your negativity don't even bother/ Level that tone, I ain't your daughter/ B—h, I was raised by Caribbean waters,” Jauregui sings on the hot track, announcing her independence to her negative lover.

“I hope dancing to it helps your spirit feel joy, as you spend time with your loved ones and continue to cultivate love in the face of fear and uncertainty,” the 23-year-old tweeted of her new single. “I had planned to give you this first taste of what’s coming for some time. There was truly no way any of us could have prepared for what is happening right now, so I hope you receive Lento with as much grace and love as is intended.”

“Lento” is the latest release from Jauregui’s long-awaited debut studio album. The track follows previously released singles like “More Than That,” “Expectations,” and “Invisible Chains” for the Birds of Prey original motion picture soundtrack. Last we heard, Jauregui is projected to unveil her first full-length effort this year. She confirmed the release date back in August.

Speaking of what’s to come of her first LP, the vocalist told iHeartRadio in 2018, "Definitely all the songs that I have written have come from a very genuine place in my heart, so that's definitely one expectation you can have.”
