The world is a scary place right now, so thankfully we have the Reynolds family. On Saturday (March 21) while announcing he was going to livestream a session from his home on Instagram, Imagine Dragons singer Dan Reynolds also revealed that his wife Aja Volkman and 7-year-old daughter Arrow were writing a children's book called A Magical Fairy Story. The "book" has its own Instagram page, and each day the girls add a new "page" (read: post).

So far, A Magical Fairy Story is about a girl named Eve (pictures of Arrow) who is stuck in quarantine amidst a pandemic, when a fairy comes to visit her one night. It's a joyful story and the photos are beautiful. Honestly, it's just what the world needs right now. Read the first few "pages" below and follow along in the coming days here.

There, on the windowsill staring back at her, was a teeny tiny itty bitty FAIRY. Eve blinked twice. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She froze. If she moved, would the fairy fly away? Her mind was racing. “Am I crazy?” she thought. “Mom! Mom!” she whispered, without trying to move her mouth. But her mom was in the other room. After what seemed like an eternity, Eve decided she had to move. If the fairy was gonna fly away, there would be nothing she could do about it. And just as she had suspected, the second she stood up the fairy was gone. She didn’t bother telling her mom what she had seen. She knew that her mom probably wouldn’t believe her. Later that night, Eve was lying in her bed. She couldn’t stop thinking about the little fairy. Before she knew it she was asleep.

Eve had a very vivid dream that night. In her dream, the fairy snuck into her room. She was rustling through her things and knocking stuff off of the shelves. Eve was tossing and turning trying to sleep through all of the clutter. She felt the fairy touch her hair, and it made her jump awake. She was breathing heavily. There was no one there. She turned on her bedside light and looked around the room. Sure enough, her things were out of place. “Is this really happening? Is there a fairy following me?” she thought to herself. Or had being stuck inside these last few days made her imagination a little crazy? There was no way Eve was going back to sleep. She decided to stay awake through the rest of the night waiting for the fairy to appear. But as the sun came up, there was still no sign of the fairy.

Eve sat at the kitchen table, feeling like a Zombie. She was so exhausted from staying up all night. As she ate her bowl of cereal, her mom talked to her about the quarantine. Eve tried hard to listen but her mind was wandering. “So you can go for a scooter ride to the little park with Marker if you want,” her mom said. Marker was Eve’s neighbor. Her real name was Margret, but Eve called her Marker. “Just make sure you guys don’t touch each other. Stay 6 feet apart. And don’t go past the park!” “Okay mom,” Eve responded. She was so happy to get out of the house that she didn’t care how tired she was. A scooter ride sounded almost as good as Disneyland these days. Eve slurped down the rest of her cereal and ran upstairs to get dressed.

As we continue to hunker down in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus, artists are doing what they can to bring joy to their fans during these unprecedented times. Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard wrote a song about life in quarantine; Mumford & Sons released a new song with proceeds going to coronavirus relief; Coldplay's Chris Martin played songs from home, and Florence + The Machine's Florence Welch compiled a "collective poem" written by fans.
