On Christmas Day, Little Women came out. Since then, the Greta Gerwig-directed adaptation of the famed 1868 novel has received both critical acclaim and lots of love from fans. However, this week, one of those fans noticed something a little off with one scene in particular in the movie.
Just before the 39 minute mark, Timothee Chalamet's character, "Laurie," is speaking with "Amy," who is played by Florence Pugh. It all seems fine and everything fits the 1860s period when the film takes place, until you see some water bottles in the shot. It looks like there is both a metal hydro flask and a Poland Springs bottle that made it into the final cut. Obviously, neither existed in the middle of the 19th century.
Little Woman superfan Madelyn Rancourt, who has watched the flick many times, caught the error and shared it on TikTok.
Once the clip started to spread, Twitter had a lot to say about the film's mistake.

the hydroflask in little women was symbolism for the patriarchy being upheld throughout the day and into centuries

Laurie, played by Timothée Chalamet, was ahead of his time in 'Little Women' (2019). During the 1860s, he already owned a Hydro Flask and water bottle 💦

this was an intentional detail from director greta gerwig, she wanted to show how relevant to modern times the little women story is so she left little hints here and there to our current society. the story could be 200 years ago or current day. an awesome easter egg :D https://t.co/L2u3qki4wD

It's not the first time a modern item made it's way into a scene where it didn't belong. Last year, the world was rocked when a Starbucks cup could be seen in an episode of Game of Thrones.
No word yet from anyone on the cast or crew of Little Women about the bottles or how they made it into the flick.
