After battling COVID-19 as a couple, Chris and Cristina Cuomo's 14-year-old son has now tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The CNN anchor's wife revealed Mario's diagnosis on Instagram Wednesday (April 22), captioning a series of photos, "After 10 days of ups and downs, feeling good one-day and terrible the next, I am now working hard to get my son, Mario, through the virus. My heart hurts more than my head over his infection."

"This virus does not discriminate," Cristina continued. "While kids are more resilient, they can suffer same severity of symptoms. Iโ€™m applying a modified version of my remedies for his protocol with a focus on lots of vitamins. Since his sense of smell and taste have disappeared, I am feeding him healthy foods that I normally canโ€™t get him to touch. I kept a diary of the past week including my remedies and things that I did to stay sane through it all. ๐Ÿ™."

On this 50th anniversary of Earth Day, show kindness toward our planet and every creature who inhabits it, as the transcendent photographer, adventurer, preservationist and raconteur Peter Beard advised us. My old friendโ€™s recent death offers an eerily timely punctuation on this virus and a reminder that we canโ€™t forget to protect one another, and the animals that roam the Earth. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ This virus has created a different version of me. My hope is to be stronger, healthier, smarter about the virus at large. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™After 10 days of ups and downs, feeling good one-day and terrible the next, I am now working hard to get my son, Mario, through the virus. Cristina's post came just two days after Chris reunited with his family following three weeks of isolation due his coronavirus diagnosis.

"The moment I could finally emerge from my basement. LETS GET AFTER IT!!!," the CNN anchor captioned the video that showed him literally walking up from the bottom floor and strolling over to greet his Cristina and their three children.

"All right, here it is: The official re-entry from the basement. Cleared by CDC," he said in the clip. "This is what I've been dreaming of, literally, for weeks."

Chris then announced that, like him, Cristina had also been cleared by the CDC."She doesn't have a fever, she doesn't have the symptoms anymore, she's seven days from quarantine," Chris said in the video. "We're still a little scared, so I'll just give you one of these," he added as he gave his family the shaka sign instead of hugging them.

"This is the dream, just to be back up here doing normal things," Chris continued, before praising his family for their support. "Thank you for being so nice to me, thank you for taking care of everything you had to, thank you for taking care of me, and Bella, thank you for stepping up and now adding family videographer to your resume."

"She's rolling her eyes," he said of his 17-year-old daughter, who was operating the camera.
