Demi Lovato is ready to face herself on her reflective new song.

On Friday (June 26), Lovato unveiled a vulnerable ballad called “In the Mirror,” from the Netflix movie, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. On the Jörgen Elofsson-produced song, the 27-year-old somberly sings of feeling like “the loneliest girl in the world” despite having “everything I wished for” and being surrounded by people who love and wish her well.

“I lived my life like a hurricane/ Twenty-four seven 'til I go insane,” Lovato sings. “I'm on a rocket to heaven/ Everybody loves me/ I'm surrounded by people/ Wishing me well as I'm taking flight/ I got everything I wished for/ If everything is so right.”

In the powerful chorus, the powerhouse belts, “Then why does it feel/ Like I'm the loneliest girl in the world/ Like I'm the loneliest, loneliest girl/ Like there's a dark other half of me/ A part of me I can't see.”

Not only does Lovato perform the track for the Eurovision soundtrack, she also stars in the film as a fan-favorite singer from Iceland who competes in the Icelandic Song Contest and later earns a spot in the Eurovision Song Contest. Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams also star in the movie alongside Lovato, whose outcome in the competition turns out differently than fans might expect.

"In the Mirror" is the latest music project to be performed by the pop star this year. In recent months, Lovato has dropped singles like "Anyone" and "I Love Me," and also performed alongside Sam Smith for their duet "I'm Ready."
