Your iPhone Has A Secret Scanner Hiding In Plain Sight

Back before the pandemic when office workers needed to scan something, most could just head over to the closest copying machine and take care of it without any issues. These days however, many employees are working from home and even the simplest tasks have become annoying challenges. It turns out though that there's a way your iPhone can really help you out, and many people don't even know about it.

Whether your are a student, or you have one at home needing to send documents to teachers, or you're in a rush to get an important document to your boss, there is actually a scanner within an app that comes with the device that you can use to create crisp scans of documents in seconds. Here's how!

First, open up the Notes app.

Next, start a new note and at the bottom you'll see a camera button. Click on that.

Then select "Scan Documents."

Your phone will now let you scan documents with ease. Once you have them, you can mark them up, add a note to them and/or send them to others.

As for you why should do that instead of just taking a photo of the papers? Well for one thing, the scanned doc will send as a pdf, not as a photo file like a jpg. Plus, the resolution will be better, which is important for hard to read handwriting or small words. If that weren't enough, the lighting will be optimized for you so no need to worry about glare or brightness, and you can crop it pre-scan so you only include the parts you want.

iPhone to the rescue yet again.
