Lil Yachty is reflecting on the time he was blocked by Nicki Minaj.
The rapper took to Twitter on Tuesday (September 15) to share a not-so-fond memory of being on the receiving end of Minaj’s bad side after a divisive comment he allegedly made about her. Along with a screenshot showing the “Starships” star has or had blocked him on Twitter, Yachty wrote, “I still think about this often... /:”
As it’s been previously reported, Yachty gave a BET interview in 2018 in which he reportedly picked sides in the long-standing feud between Minaj and her rap rival Cardi B. At the time, the “Speed Me Up” musician was asked if he would ever collaborate with the 37-year-old lyricist, to which Yachty allegedly replied, “I couldn’t. As much as I probably would want to.”

Despite clearly aligning with Cardi over Minaj, the “66” artist claimed his words were being misconstrued.
He addressed the situation on Twitter in October 2018, tweeting, “Das not even what I said. … cardi show me too much love 4 me be in the dark about who I side w/. I f—k w nicki doe been did since elementary school.. they just twisted my words.”
Of course, the damage had already been done.
For a little bit of back story, Cardi and Minaj were embroiled in a major feud at that time, from the whole “Motorsport” controversy to the stars taking slight digs at each other on social media. Things came to a head in September 2018 when the “Bodak Yellow” musician allegedly tried to fight and throw a shoe at Minaj at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS Fashion Week event. Miraculously, the stars seemingly called a truce and have opted to steer clear of each other’s lane ever since.
