Broward County has another lucky resident in its area. Local 10 reported Thursday (October 8) that a 60-year-old Pompano Beach woman became a millionaire after visiting a gas station. Mildred Lane hit the Florida Lottery jackpot in an August 8 drawing, winning $1.5 million.

The Pompano Beach resident decided to take a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,303,179.50, lottery officials said. She purchased the winning Florida Lottery ticket from the Circle K at 4791 North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach. The store will also get a bonus commission of $20,000 for selling the ticket, officials added.

The past two months has seen many Broward County residents winning big at the lottery. A Deerfield Beach man took home over $900,000 after purchasing a winning scratch-off from a 7-Eleven in October. In late September, Fort Lauderdale man and a Pompano Beach man both won $1 million. According to Local 10, there was also a Tamarac man who scored a $2.5 million jackpot from a Florida Lottery drawing in September.

In the neighboring Miami-Dade County, a Miami woman won $2 million from a $10 Publix scratch-off ticket. She decided to take over $1.4 million home.
