Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper’s acoustic version of “Holy” hits different.

Last night (November 5), the pop star and the rapper unveiled a moving rendition of their smash collaboration with a stripped-back interpretation of their gospel-pop song. Bieber and Chance accompanied the offering with a three-minute visual which finds both artists flexing their vocals inside a lavish ballroom.

“On God/ Runnin' to the altar like a track star/ Can't wait another second/ 'Cause the way you hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me/ Feels so holy,” Bieber sings in the uplifting chorus.

“Holy,” which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, is Bieber’s first single to follow the release of his sixth studio album, Changes, which landed in February. Last month, the crooner enlisted the Chicago emcee to perform “Holy” live for the first time on Saturday Night Live, where the Canadian pop star also live-debuted another new track, “Lonely.”

Bieber premiered the music video for the tune back in September, accompanying its release with an emotional music video.

“Colin [Tilley] and I, both of our hearts behind wanting to make this video, both from the fact that we know that there’s a lot going on in the world right now,” the 26-year-old said of creating the visual at the time. “A lot of pain, a lot of heartache, a lot of frustration, a lot of people losing jobs."

"It basically shows how an act of compassion can really change the trajectory of someone’s life or day. And just having empathy for people," he continued. "That’s our goal with this project, is just to inspire, to bring hope in this kind of uncertain, fragile time.”
