A Tom turkey has reportedly been harassing residents in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston recently.

CBS Boston was notified by residents of the turkey's presence in the neighborhood. Reporter Bill Shields and photographer Rick Hertzler found the turkey themselves when they went to Hyde Park on Wednesday (November 11).

Upon arrival, the CBS Boston crew saw the turkey forcing one resident back in his car before crossed the street to block a couple's car from leaving.

The turkey then turned its attention to Shields and began pecking at his microphone and following the reporter around.

Several residents nearby gathered to watch the interaction, including one who told CBS Boston, "I guess he's letting us know he's not going to be the one on our plates [for Thanksgiving] this year."

Hyde Park resident Liz Poulette told CBS Boston she was recently attacked by the turkey while she and her boyfriend were walking down the street, which left her with bruises on her arm.

"He jumped at my arm and turkey's have spurs on the back of their claws and he nicked me with it," Poulette said. "I finally had to hit him with my purse to get him to leave me alone."

Shields said residents want the turkey removed from the neighborhood but it's unknown when that will happen.
