Dua Lipa delivered a truly soaring performance of her smash hit “Levitating” at the 2020 American Music Awards.
The singer-songwriter made her return to the AMAs stage for the first time in two years with a stunning display of her new disco-pop bop. Wearing a dazzlingly bright blue sequined outfit for the hotly-anticipated performance, Lipa sang and performed energetic choreography with her backup crew before defying gravity by literally levitating into the air and above the crowd.
So far, Lipa has taken home the trophy for Favorite Pop/Rock Song for her 2019 jam “Don’t Start Now" and is currently still in the running for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist.
As fans know, the 25-year-old songbird last stormed the AMAs stage to sing her Calvin Harris-assisted bop “One Kiss” in 2018. At the time, the superstar was in the running for Best New Artist.
“Levitating” appears on Lipa’s sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, which also included hits like “Don’t Start Now,” “Physical” and “Break My Heart.” Since dropping the former song in August, the English songbird has reinvented the record several times with remixes featuring artists like Madonna and Missy Elliott and, most recently, rapper DaBaby.
In related news, Dua Lipa is performing during the 2020 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball next month, and fans can tune in to watch the 2020 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball on Thursday, December 10th at 9pm ET/6pm PT on The CW App and CWTV.com, as well as listen across 95 iHeartMedia CHR radio stations nationwide and the iHeartRadio App. The CW will also broadcast the event as an exclusive TV special on Monday, December 14th at 8pm ET/PT.
