Ellen DeGeneres opened up about the “excruciating” pain she’s endured since she tested positive for coronavirus last week.

On Wednesday (December 16), the talk show host took to Instagram to give her fans an update about her health, revealing that she feels “really good” despite the surprising symptom she did not expect to experience.

"Hi everybody, just saying thank you to all the well wishes out there, I appreciate it very much. I'm feeling 100%, I feel really good," the 62-year-old said in a video from her home. "One thing that they don't tell you is you get, somehow, excruciating back pain. Didn't know that was a symptom, but I talked to some other people — back pain. Who knew? How come?"

The TV personality, who had been following all CDC guidelines, shared the news of her diagnosis just last week, but assured fans, “I am feeling fine right now.”

She continued, ”Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. I’ll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe."

DeGeneres’ COVID-19 diagnosis came just two months after The Ellen DeGeneres Show made its comeback to the small screen in October with a limited in-person audience as well as audience members tuning in remotely.

Since the show's return, several sources “with knowledge of the situation” told BuzzFeed News the program hasn't yet recovered from all of the bad press of damaging allegations from over the summer.
