Ellen DeGeneres was pictured wearing her face mask improperly not long after testing positive for coronavirus.
Photos published by JustJared on Monday (December 21) caught the talk show host as she ran errands around town in Los Angeles over the weekend. In the pictures, DeGeneres can be seen wearing her face mask around her neck instead of over her face and nose — as recommended by the CDC — while taking a phone call.
As seen in additional snapshots, DeGeneres could be seen wearing her face mask properly while departing a local store. (See the images here.)
It’s one of the rare times the 62-year-old has been spotted publicly since breaking the news of her coronavirus diagnosis earlier this month.
“I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19,” DeGeneres wrote at the time. “Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now. Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following proper CDC guidelines.”
Just a week ago, the star provided a health update about the “excruciating back pain” she’s experienced while battling the novel disease.
"Hi everybody, just saying thank you to all the well wishes out there, I appreciate it very much. I'm feeling 100%, I feel really good," she said in a video from home. "One thing that they don't tell you is you get, somehow, excruciating back pain. Didn't know that was a symptom, but I talked to some other people — back pain. Who knew? How come?"
DeGeneres is just one among many celebrities to have contracted COVID-19 this year — see the full list here.
