The weekend is nearly here, and it's almost time to relax and unwind from a very eventful week (and let's be honest — a very eventful month). Some people enjoy a spa day and meditation while others may enjoy an alcoholic beverage or two. One North Carolina family, however, didn't expect to have a truck full of beer crash into their home.

Charlotte Police and Fire officials are investigating what led to the beer truck invading the east Charlotte residence on Thursday (January 21). They responded to a report Thursday afternoon of a beer truck that had slammed into a home on Admiral Avenue and East Sugar Creek, causing a gas main leak.

Photos taken by WCNC photojournalist Mike Hanson show how the semi-truck hauling Miller Lite beer struck the side of the east Charlotte home. Much of the side paneling and framework appears heavily damaged.

According to a medic at the scene, the driver of the truck was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Thankfully no one was home at the time of the crash.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash, and no additional details of what led to the incident have been released.
