Part of the job for a judge is to be impartial and not to be swayed by anything that might be given to them or said to them. Well one defendant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida put that to the test.
Demetrius Lewis stood before Judge Tabitha Blackmon during a remote bond court appearance. As he walks up to the camera, he greets her by saying, "How you doin? How you doin?" She responds flatly, answering, "Alright, I'm good sir, how are you?" That's when he starts to lay it on thick. He says, "Judge, you are so gorgeous, judge, I just had to tell you. You’re gorgeous."
While Blackmon smiles at the kind words, she quickly responds, "Alright, thank you Mr. Lewis. Flattery will get you everywhere, but maybe not here," then lists off the charges he is facing, including attempted burglary on an occupied dwelling.
SHOOTING HIS SHOT - A defendant apparently tried to make a move on a Broward judge during his bond court appearance this morning, but he didn't seem to get very far. 😂

In a longer version of the video from WSVN, a prosecutor goes on to describe Lewis' criminal history and alleged burglary at length. In the end, Judge Blackmon decided there was probable cause and Lewis is now being held on a $5,000 bond.
No word yet on when Lewis will be in court again, but hopefully that appearance will be streamed as well.
