Living with another person has its ups and downs. If you need a friend or confidante, someone is always there to talk; but if you need some space or time alone, someone is always there to talk. While roommate disagreements aren't an uncommon occurrence, they don't usually end in homicide.

Metro Nashville Police are searching for a woman they say ran over her former roommate with her vehicle earlier this month, causing severe injuries that ultimately led to her death. An arrest warrant has been issued against 21-year-old Tessa Knapp for allegedly running over 20-year-old Amanda Byers in the Rodeway Inn motel parking lot on Old Hickory Boulevard in Hermitage on February 1.

Byers was transferred to a hospital where she identified Knapp as her attacker. She told police her former roommate intentionally ran her over and stole her money and other belongings, FOX 17 reports. Byers died days later on February 5 from injuries she sustained during the incident.

According to police, motel surveillance video shows a woman, believed to be Knapp, run to a vehicle in the lot while Byers follows her, banging on the side of the car as she yelled at the woman to stop. When Byers attempted to block the car, she was knocked down and run over.

"The vehicle stopped for a moment with Byers under the car before the driver rolled over her again with the rear tire," police said in a statement.

According to News Channel 5, Knapp is transient and is known to stay in motels. As police continue to search for Knapp, they ask that anyone with information about her whereabouts call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
