University of Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne is apparently optimistic about having Bryant-Denny Stadium at full capacity next football season.
Amid news of the university planning a traditional in-person reopening next fall, Byrne said the athletics program is moving toward its goal of having the reigning national champions' home games played in front of full crowds.
"With this announcement, we've received a number of questions regarding capacity at Bryant-Denny for @AlabamaFTBL in 2021," Byrne quote-tweeted alongside the University of Alabama's initial announcement for a return to classes next fall. "We are moving forward with plans to have a full stadium in the fall and will monitor medical guidelines as we have all along. #RollTide."

The University of Alabama said its Tuscaloosa campus, along with other campuses within the University of Alabama System, will "return to traditional in-person instruction without restrictions on classroom capacity for Fall 2021," in a news release shared on its official website.
“The return to normal operations would not be possible without the leadership of our campus presidents – UA President Stuart Bell, UAB President Ray Watts and UAH President Darren Dawson – who have skillfully implemented the health and safety measures recommended by our world-renowned medical experts,” said UA System Chancellor Finis St. John while making the announcement on Monday (March 1.)
The UA chancellor cited the work of hundreds of frontline health care staff and counterparts throughout the University of Alabama System throughout the pandemic in relation to Monday's announcement.
Last season, Bryant-Denny stadium was limited to 20% attendance and tailgating was prohibited in adherence with safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
