Frank Iero was planning on spending most of last year on bus with his My Chemical Romance bandmates during their long-awaited reunion tour. Of course, that didn't end up happening, but the guitarist still managed to get his tour bus fix. On Monday (March 15), Iero revealed that his family rented a tour bus to visit his wife's grandfather, who recently turned 96, in Florida.

"time is something crazy... it’s already 2021 and an entire year has passed since the world we knew shut down and was forever changed," he wrote on Instagram. "This year my wife’s grandfather turned 96, and like most of the world one of the first things we sacrificed was visiting or coming in contact with any of our older or elderly relatives during this pandemic. But recently when the time came for us to be able to get vaccinated we decided it was the perfect opportunity to visit him if we could do it in the safest way possible... So we rented a bus, locked ourselves in a bubble, and went on tour!"

It was the first time he saw his grandparents-in-law in two years.

Along the way, Iero and his son Miles played songs as The Pretzels, and he'll be sharing highlights from thet trip, including live footage of The Pretzels' first tour, in the coming days. Check out the first batch of posts below.
