Britney Spears is feeling the love amid the #FreeBritney movement.
As per ET, the pop superstar, 39, has been in good spirits since the release of The New York Times Presents' "Framing Britney Spears," which chronicled the media's cruel and invasive treatment of her career, as well as her ongoing 13-year conservatorship, and has even considered sharing her side of the story.
"Britney has considered speaking out about her past, mostly because she doesn't feel others should tell her story," the source revealed. "She's always hated doing interviews but if she ever takes that step, Oprah would most likely be her first choice. At this point, there is no plan in the works for her to do an interview but when she does, there will be steps Britney would need to take before speaking out."
Additionally, the source went on to explain that Spears feels more understood since the release of the film. "Britney has been much happier lately and those closest to her feel it's because she's received such tremendous support from her fans," the insider continued. "The release of the documentary has inspired an outpouring of more love than ever. While she hasn't been able to make changes to her conservatorship, she's received millions of messages from fans on social media and she feels far more understood."
As for her conservatorship, a Wednesday (March 17) hearing saw her court appointed attorney, Samuel Ingham, reveal plans to file a petition to ask the court on their next hearing, which is scheduled for April 27, to make her temporary conservator, Jodi Montgomery, her permanent one. While her father, Jamie Spears, voluntarily stepped down in 2019, citing health reasons, he is the co-conservator of her estate, alongside Bessemer Trust, a wealth management advisory firm. Nonetheless, Spears has previously revealed that she is afraid of her father and will not further career ventures until he is removed from the legal restraints.
