A NASA astronaut gave residents a look at what Denver looks like to those at the International Space Station.

Shane Kimbrough is the astronaut who shared the ariel view of the Mile High City from his Twitter account on Tuesday, May 11.

He was first selected by NASA in 2004 and completed his first spaceflight in 2008. He spent nearly 16 days on the mission and performed two spacewalks. In total, he has performed four spacewalks and logged 189 days in space.

Kimbrough's photo of Denver is from 250 miles up, which is where the International Space Station flies at speeds that defy gravity, according to the European Space Agency.

The International Space Station is also sometimes visible from below. NASA has a page dedicated to Spotting The Station.

Denver's sighting location is in Aurora and the website lists what time of the day it's possible for residents to spot the ISS through May 29.
