Texas cops take trespassing seriously, even when the criminal is only a foot or so long.
On July 23, cops were called out to a home in Fulshear (40 miles west of Houston) because an "unknown suspect had entered a homeowner’s backyard and decided to go for a swim in their hot tub," the police department wrote on Facebook.
"Officers Chavez and Landry quickly made the scene and observed the suspect swimming naked without regard to the owners wishes," the post continued.
The skinny-dipping criminal was actually a small alligator.
It's unclear how the itty-bitty gator found its way into a residential hot tub, but the cops decided to how some fun in describing its "arrest" on social media.
The two officers were able to fish the little guy out of the hot tub before holding its snout shut to take it into custody.
"You're so pretty. I'm going to name you Emma," one of the officers says as he carries it to the back of the squad car.

"Emma" was safely returned to the wild.
Alligators are native to Texas waterways, but tend to live quiet lives away from humans. Earlier this year, two alligators were found on Texas highways while and adult gator made a home in a suburban Dallas neighborhood.
