Adam Driver has been in Northeast Ohio filming an upcoming movie.

White Noise is an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel by the same name, though the movie is reportedly also under the working title Wheat Germ. “Set at a bucolic mid-western college known only as The-College-on-the-Hill, White Noise follows a year in the life of Jack Gladney, a professor who has made his name by pioneering the field of Hitler studies,” the IMDB synopsis reads of the drama/mystery.

White Noise also stars Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle and others.

The stars were reportedly working on Severance Circle. City officials confirmed to cleveland.com that filming locations include the old Walmart store that closed in 2013. Cleveland.com also noted the Adam Driver Files fan account on Twitter, which posted photos of crews apparently filming in Canton last month:

“Filming for White Noise / Wheat Germ took place in Canton, Ohio on Monday, July 26, 2021. Adam Driver reportedly arrived in a black SUV - cr: Mike Schario

It’s not the first time Northeast Ohio has served as a movie set. Notable landmarks have appeared as backdrops in popular movies and TV shows for decades. Earlier this summer, Nick Jonas was reportedly in Cleveland to film Jersey Boys, a TV version of the Broadway musical and subsequent 2014 movie. The “This Is Heaven” singer is playing Franki Valli.

Driver’s upcoming film is in post-production, according to IMDb, and expected to release in 2022.
