Police officers are used to seeing weird things on the job, including finding animals where they're not supposed to be and having to wrangle them in. Officers in South Carolina recently came across such a sighting when they attempted to arrest a larceny suspect and found a horse in the middle of a home.

On Monday (August 9), the Oconee County Sheriff's Office received a report around 2:30 p.m. of a man, later identified as Garry Chase Coble Jr., riding a horse down a residential road before taking it inside a home in the 100 block of Country Lane, WSPA reports. Detectives arrived at the residence and were greeted by Coble's father, who said his son wasn't supposed to be there.

Upon further investigation inside the home, detectives noticed horse feces in the living room. Coble's father attempted to get his son to come out of a bedroom, but when Coble saw police, he went back inside. Detectives followed, and when they opened the door, they saw a full-size quarter horse calmly standing in the middle of the bedroom.

The horse's owner arrived on scene to be reunited with the missing equine. When they checked over the horse, the owner noticed it had a small laceration on its front left leg that they said wasn't there before it was stolen.

Coble was arrested and charged with burglary, petit larceny of livestock and malicious injury to animals or personal property in unrelated cases, and was booked into Oconee County Detention Center where he remains in custody.
