People like to come up with free and creative solutions to their problems. Sometimes, they don't always work out.

That was the case for one man authorities said drove his SUV into a Washington river to "fill his radiator up with water," according to KIMA.

The weird incident happened Tuesday (August 17) after drivers and witnesses spotted a blue Suburban submerged in the Yakima River near Century Landing. Emergency crews were called out to the scene along with Yakima County Sheriff's deputies. Authorities found the owner of the vehicle nearby and learned the truth of the matter.

Deputies claimed the driver intentionally sank his SUV into the river.

The driver told authorities he did it so he could get some water into the radiator.

As for the vehicle, it has been towed out of the river. No word on what happened after the incident.

In other strange driving news, a heart-stopping video caught the moment a driver crossed into oncoming traffic. Another video shows a driver attempting to jump a drawbridge as it begins lifting.
