Utah Couple Miraculously Survives After Massive Tree Falls On Them

A Utah couple is lucky to be alive after a massive 60-foot tree fell over on top of them, reported ABC 4. Utah was experiencing windy, stormy conditions on Saturday when the incident happened.

Officials with the Lone Peak Fire Department were called to the couple's home near 6400 West 10500 North in a Highland neighborhood. The fire department received reported that a tree had fallen at the home and people were trapped underneath.

Fire officials arrived to find only one of the people had been trapped. The other go out without any injuries.

Crews worked for about 20 minutes to free the person.

Photos posted by the fire department show damage to the couple's property. The fire department wrote on Facebook:

"The wind yesterday caused a lot of havoc in north Utah County. LPFD responded on calls in Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, as well as our own area as all the local departments worked together to make sure everyone was safe and taken care of. One call in our own area involved a large fallen tree pinning someone underneath. Our crew worked swiftly to stabilize the patient and tree, followed by cutting the patient free."

The trapped individual was transported to a hospital nearby and miraculously only suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

According to officials, there was another tree nearby that was leaning and causing fears, however it is in stable condition and is no posing any threat at this time.
