Halsey's New Album 'If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power' Has Arrived

Halsey's fourth studio album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, dropped on Friday (August 27).

The pop star's latest set, which features production from Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, follows the release of 2020's Manic. The 13-track collection also features a number of guest contributions like Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl playing drums on "Honey," Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham offering guitar on "Darling" and bassist Pino Palladino appearing on “Lilith." To pair with the LP, they also released an accompanying IMAX film with the same title.

Prior to the drop of the album, the singer revealed that the concept album is about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. "It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. The idea of the Madonna and the Whore," they explained. "The idea that me as a sexual being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully."

If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power comes about a month and a half after the singer gave birth to their first child with partner Alev Aydin.
