'SURPRISE': Spice Girls Announce Deluxe Anniversary Album 'Spice25'

The Spice Girls announced a major “SURPRISE” early Wednesday morning (September 1).

To celebrate 25 years since Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Baby, Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Posh Spice) released their iconic debut album Spice, the Spice Girls will release a deluxe edition of the album next month. Here’s what fans need to know about Spice25:

“SURPRISE!! 🎉 To mark the 25th Anniversary of our debut album ‘Spice’ we are releasing a limited edition collection of vinyl and cassettes PLUS a 2CD deluxe featuring some previously unreleased tracks and demos.

Earlier this summer, the Spice Girls — the best-selling girl band of all time — rolled out their #IAmASpiceGirl campaign along with a new limited-edition anniversary EP: Wannabe25. “We believe there is a Spice Girl in all of us, and we want you to join us on a trip down memory lane! We want to see you singing your heart out, showing off your best dance moves and hear how you've been inspired, influenced and excited by everything People Power,” the Spice Girls announced in June, calling on fans to share their photos, videos and stories.Wannabe25 released on July 9.

"All I ever wanted was to be accepted and to make everyone around me — gay, straight, brown, black, shy or loud like me — to feel they can celebrate who they are and to be free to be themselves,” Mel B (“Scary Spice”) said in a statement, according to Billboard. “All I hope – 25 years on – is that message has been heard loud and clear. It’s true that in the end love IS all you need so I thank everyone who has ever bought a Spice Girls record or stood in the rain to greet us or got dressed up in pink, in a tracksuit, a ginger wig, a leopard print catsuit or put on Vic’s [Beckham, a.k.a. “Posh Spice”] iconic pout!”

Spice25 is set to release October 29.
