10 Of The Weirdest Foods You Can Get At The Oklahoma State Fair

One of the biggest draws of any state fair is the food, because where else can you get a sausage on a stick, candy apple, funnel cake, and deep fried mac and cheese in one place?

This year's Oklahoma State Fair (September 16-26) will have all of the traditional fair food, but it's also releasing more than 20 new treats. Some of them, like the homemade ice cream sandwiches, sound like something anyone can enjoy while a handful are more appealing to more adventurous eaters.

Below is a list of the 10 most unique, interesting, or just plain weird snacks that will be at this year's state fair in Oklahoma City.

1) Apple Fries

This is a twist on the healthy snack of apple slices. Apple fries are slices that are lightly battered, deep fried, and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.

2) Avocado Fries

If you prefer veggies over fruit, skip the apple fries and go for the avocado fries instead. They're fried avocado slices served with dipping sauce.

3) Deep Fried Coffee

Since pouring a cup of coffee into a deep fryer is probably a bad idea, these are more like deep fried doughnuts balls with coffee in the dough.

4) Gelato Nachos

Instead of a tortilla chip with cheese, these nachos are stroopwafel chips with scoops of gelato and all of the fixings you'd find on a sundae.

5) Honey Bun Bacon Cheeseburger

The honey bun bacon cheeseburger is for the person who can't pick between sweet or savory. If this treat is too over the top, the fair also had a burger with the buns replaced by glazed doughnuts.

6) Peanut Butter Puppy Scoops Ice Cream Mix & Puppy Cake Mix

Four-legged friends can get their own fair food too this. The ice cream and puppy cake are made with dog-safe ingredients.

7) Ghost Pepper Tater Tots

It tastes like burning.

8) Elk Sausage Corn Dog

This is definitely a must try for anyone who likes venison.

9) Rattlesnake Sausage Corn Dog

The taste of rattlesnake has been compared to chicken and "a sinewy, half-starved tilapia." This is definitely something for the more adventurous eaters.

10) Bug Pizza

Fairgoers get to pick from three toppings: scorpions, crickets, or meal worms. Yum?
